Invisible join and fasten off

Using tapestry needle
Crochet - invisible join
Cut the yarn leaving ≈ 3 inches tail and fasten off pulling the loop until you have a yarn tail. Using a tapestry needle insert the end under both loops of the first dc in the round, then return the needle to the last sc: insert it between 2 loops and lead the needle to the back side of the work.

Hide the end in the closest dc-9 shell: whipstitch along the dc of the last round to the bottom of the dc-9 shell; insert the needle into stitches, change direction, skip first loop, then run yarn in the opposite direction. Repeat 2-3 times. Cut off the yarn close to work. A half of the bow is ready.

Second half of the bow

Repeat rounds 1-8 on the other side. 1st round may be started from dc, not from ch-3. After making 1st round you may tie a knot with 2 yarn ends and cut them close to work.

Attaching elastic

Crochet bow - attaching elastic
Make a rectangle to hide the join of main crochet piece and elastic:
ch 9, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (8 sc)
ch1, turn, sc in first sc and in each rem sc across (8 sc)
work even until you have enough length to wrap the bow covering its central part (mine has 19 rows). Odd quantity of rows is preferable.
Crochet bow - pin and sew
If you have a quality seamless hair elastic, put it along the bow in the centre, insert the rectangle piece into the elastic and wrap the bow and elastic together, than sew short sides of the rectangle on the back side of the bow.
Square knot
You also can use elastic sold by the yard for sewing.
Cut ≈8 inches of elastic and tie it with a square knot.
Crochet bow - how to attach elastic
Attach the knot to the bow center with hot glue. Gluing is optional but recommended: it makes the knot more secure and fix it on the bow.
Crochet bow - pin rectangle to bow
Pin the rectangle to the bow. Check if it is placed right in the centre.
Crochet bow - sew short sides
Crochet bow - fixing rectangle
Weave in ends crochet
Sew short sides of the rectangle on the back side of the bow, than sew a few stitches on the left and right sides fixing the rectangle in right place. Hide the yarn ends inside the stitches and cut the tails close to work.
